From the Classroom to the Field
Umply was founded by Thomas Vaccaro, a special-education teacher from Wisconsin who spent years coaching youth and high school sports. The idea started in baseball, where Thomas watched league admins drown in spreadsheets, chase down officials with phone calls, and manually track stats on clipboards.
What started in baseball quickly became clear — every youth sport league faces the same operational challenges. Whether it's soccer, basketball, football, lacrosse, or hockey, the problems are identical: scheduling nightmares, official shortages, payment headaches, and communication breakdowns.
So Thomas set out to build the platform he wished existed — not just for one sport, but for all of them. The result is Umply, an all-in-one platform that streamlines intelligent league management, purpose-built to give admins their weekends back and ensure smooth operations.
Our mission: Make scheduling and league operations effortless — for any sport. If the workflow is obvious and the UI is calm, admins recover hours each week and officials feel respected.
